House Fire

 October 16, 2015

On October 16, 2015 at 1138pm Collingdale Police responded along with the fire companies to a report of a house fire at 217 Collingdale Avenue in Collingdale. On arrival Collingdale Officers Carter, Christie and Gerrity with assistance from Sharon Hill Sgt. Faulkner and Ofc. Johnson and Folcroft Officer Mackey rescued a woman trapped on the porch roof. Officers then attempted to enter the burning home for a male occupant who was missing. The officers were driven back by smoke and flames. The fire companies responded quickly and the fire was extinguished. Unfortunately the male was discovered deceased in the home. The officers showed true professionalism and are a credit to their departments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
