On Friday September 17, 2021 at 10am state and local politicians, borough officials, members of St. Joseph’s Parish and Archdiocesan officials met at the old Saint Joseph’s School located at 502 Woodlawn Avenue. There the group attended a prayer service and announcement of a $20 million dollar construction of affordable senior living units. The buildings will be repurposed and have new life thanks to all the organizations working together. Numerous organizers praised Borough Manager John Hewlings, Mayor Felecia Coffee, Solicitor Sam Auslander, Engineer Eileen Nelson, Council President Kate Munro, Councilman Ken Burns, Councilwoman Dottie Gallagher, Councilwoman Donna Spadea, Councilman Daryl Booker, Councilwoman Brianna Rush-Greene and Councilman Tom Heckman for their commitment to the project and assistance in making it come to fruition.
